Encompass Credit Union partnered with Barnardos Australia in 2002 to pilot and launch the Boomerang Grant, a No Interest Loans Scheme (NILS) for the postcode 2749 in the Penrith area. CUSCAL, the credit union peak body presented them with the CUSCAL Community Award in 2005. That same year, Barnardos Australia were awarded the Metropolitan Einfeld Award by the Department of Fair Trading for the Boomerang Grant Scheme. |

Sydney Water, in 2005, partnered with Barnardos Australia to provide capital to provide no interest loans for water saving washing machines. The funding has given applicants the possibility of purchasing an efficient 'water saving' washing machine that would normally be out of their price range. |

National Australia Bank partnered with Barnardos Australia Bank in 2009. The NAB capital is available for Barnardos to rollout and offer NILS loans from more locations, as funding for staffing, training and administrative support systems allows. |

The Ian Potter Foundation granted Barnardos Australia funding in 2009-2010 to develop a reporting module for administering NILS loans for Barnardos Centres. This has enable Barnardos to efficiently rollout NAB NILS funding to more Barnardos locations. |
